I have used Quicken Home & Business since 2001. The important features are that it prints invoices and makes end of the year (and quarterly reports for sales tax) reports for tax purposes. It has the capability to also produce color graphs, but it is not anything I really use. This purchase was to upgrade my 2001 program to 2013. After all is said and done, the new program does the same thing as the old one. One advantage is the ability to email invoices directly from the program through a MS email account.

In reality, the cost of the upgrade weighed against the benefits was not worthwhile. Especially considering the trouble it took to update my previous files. It was necessary to uninstall the new version, go online install 2004, update the files, uninstall 2004, then reinstall 2013 again, update the files to the latest version.

This took a couple hours!!! But, if you do not have bookkeeping software, you have a small business (without payroll) this program will manage your bookkeeping very well, without the expense of an accountant. This will work for home finances, but is not designed for a business.

There is no inventory tracking (ex. Inventory item, cost of item, cost of sale, description, amount of item in stock). You can add items to the inventory, but have no way of tracking your cost of the item. Business should not be on the title, as it seems to be an after thought so they an increase the cost of the item. I am now out $110 as I am outside the 60 refund window by 10 days and Intuit says they can do nothing for me, but if I give them feedback they may improve future versions.

I personally would not purchase this or any future versions as now I am skeptical of what business software means to their company. It should state that their is not inventory tracking in this software. If you run a business, especially resale, you need to track your inventory accurately. Again I would not buy this product, unless you only plan to use it for home finanaces.
