I decided to try using the side door vent instead of the bottom ash drawer vent. It actually works quite well so I may keep doing it this way. Federal Airtight Wood Stove Federal Airtight was another company that cranked out stoves in the 70s and 80s. The quality on these were a little suspect from what I've gathered.
